Birds Canada is conducting critical research and conservation projects across Canada. Mouse over the map to discover where we are working and actions we are taking to help birds. Many of Canada’s bird species face significant threats to their survial. Ongoing monitoring work is vital to establishing long-term data to identify population trends and shifts of concern. If steps aren’t taken to increase dwindling numbers, some species are at risk of disappearing from our landscape altogether. From the British Columbia coast to the Cape Breton highlands, Birds Canada is working to fill high-priority knowledge gaps, tackle critical threats and conserve at-risk birds. Through migration tracking, continued monitoring, species recovery plans, community engagement, and international collaboration we’re taking comprehensive action for birds and their habitats.
